Prosa; What do I want?

For funny background information.
I wrote this piece of Lyric when I was 15 and actually won two different awards with it strangely enough.
A local youth award for most intelligent poem, and bigger Summer city award for best reflecting poem.
That was one weird experience, as people can see, the poem is rather tiny and non saying.

I don’t want to be alone
I don’t want to rely on others
I want to fit in
I want to be unique
I want to fly far away
I don’t want things to change
I hate when people have expectations
I am sad when they don’t
I can’t figure out what I really want
Can you?

  1. Sometimes the simplest things in the world can be the most provocative. I thought it was a pretty good piece on our internal contradictions.

Edit: Ha, the word verification is "sellout". It's mocking me! :/

  2. hehe, don't worry. you can shower me with praising words all you want, and changes are I wont be mad at you, quite the contrary.

Well, doesn't alter what a pure strange experience it was at the time I had it.. published I guess is the word, it was made into a big poster and hanged on a exhibition at a museum, and one or two people told me they actually got an "Oh" experience out if it....

The heck? what are you people rambling about!? it's 10 small sentences on a paper, I don't believe I even put that much thought into it, but what do I remember, it was bloody 5 years ago.

  3. Ah, so that’s why you don’t like it. Five years from now you’ll probably look back on the things you’ve written now and say “what a load of garbage!” because your writing will have developed a lot since then. That’s pretty much my reaction to everything I wrote in the past too.

  4. hey, I actually didn't say that I didn't like it. If I didn't liked it I wouldn't post it, is that not a sort of logic?
If I just wanted to post rubbish to fill up my blog I get plenty of that on my computer, including loads of really bad fanfiction, stuff I am never going to post, because it sucks.
I wanted to post this because I like it, sort of. It just seemed like complete madness that I won two different writing awards with it!
That people stop and and have an "aha" experience, is wonderful, that they stop two seconds and think. That is beyond marvellous, but to get not one be two awards? that's just crazy.
